Mo Costandi has written a good article on the topic: http://scienceblogs.com/neurophilosophy/2009/03/amnesia_in_the_movies.phpJon Simonshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11791855886699827354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7067958908136086797.post-11126152501443995482011-09-16T00:01:03.247+01:002011-09-16T00:01:03.247+01:00Hi Jon
Just leafing through your blog and reading...Hi Jon

Just leafing through your blog and reading this post was immediately struck by a film that encapsulates encoding specificity to a tee: Chaplin's City Lights.

In it, the tramp rescues a drunk millionaire from taking his own life. Said millionaire takes his saviour to his bosom, and out on the town. However, when they awaken the next day, no memories of the good time endure and the tramp is cast out. Until they next meet, where the millionaire is drunk and full of familiar cheer for his best friend. Rinse and repeat.

I do recommend it, for it is a fine film, quite apart from its correspondence to the world of cognitive memory research.

Best,
AlexCustomerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16223571651567362380noreply@blogger.com
